Medals are presented at end of semester/school year at the school’s cadet Award Ceremonies.

Description

Participating local chapters are responsible for University/College and High School units in their areas.  Chapters and MS Instructors should contact each other to coordinate.   University/College cadets receive the Silver ROTC Medal.  High School JROTC cadets receive the Bronze JROTC Medal.  The award is presented to cadets having a high degree of merit with respect to leadership qualities, military bearing and general excellence.  Medal recipients are selected by  the Commanding Officer of the ROTC or JROTC unit.   

Chapter Information

Chapters are responsible for purchase of Bronze JROTC Medals and accompanying certificate; in coordination with the State Chairman, the State may reimburse half of the cost of the medals.  The Chairman/State Society purchases the Silver ROTC Medals and blank certificates and they are distributed annually at the State Convention.  Chapters should inform State Chairman of the names/numbers of high schools and colleges being supported, and awards presented.  Awards may be presented by Chapter members or by MS Instructor/Commanding Officer.
