Description |
Participating local chapters are responsible for High School units in their areas. MS Instructors should contact these local chapters and submit Nomination form with accompanying essay by the Cadet on the topic “How JROTC has prepared me to be a better citizen of the United States.” |
Winner Information |
State winner receives $275 and certificate. Winner is invited to attend ALSSAR Convention / Banquet. “Travel” expenses (consisting of 25 cents/mile, 1 room for 1 night, and non-banquet meals) up to a total of $200, if requested, will also be paid. Receipts are required. If state winner is selected as the Outstanding Cadet in the Nation, the Chapter sponsoring that cadet will be contacted so that it can coordinate the Cadet’s travel to the NSSAR Annual Congress. The national award is the National JROTC Medallion and $1,000. Additional expense money, not to exceed $1,000, is also provided by the National Society. |

Notify State Chairman of Chapter Chairman. Ensure Chapter Chairman is listed on website. If chapter supports several JROTC units, it may run a local contest to decide the best cadet, since only one cadet per chapter may advance to the state competition.
