The Wiregrass Chapter, Alabama Society Sons of the American Revolution, in conjunction with the Oliver Wiley Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution is in the process of establishing a new Sons of the American Revolution Chapter in Pike County, Alabama. The area represents one of the oldest sections of the state and at least two Revolutionary War soldiers are known to be buried in the county. Sons and grandsons of Revolutionary War soldiers were some of the first individuals who settled not only Pike, but also the surrounding counties in the south central part of Alabama.
